Peggy's Cove

Last evening we drove to Peggy's Cove, about an hour away.  It is famous for its lack of soil but instead has bogs, barrens, and rocks, lots of rocks, granite rocks.   The rocks were the main attraction for our crew.  Peggy's Cove is home to one of the most photographed lighthouses in Canada.  So popular is this lighthouse, that when Canada celebrated its 125th anniversary as a country, the lighthouse was featured on a stamp and on a coin.
The fishing village of Peggy's Cove; this is it.

It's 9 pm, time to watch the sunset.

Sun is almost gone.
Part of the sunset.

Professional photographer who was taking pictures of the sunset (he sells his work) offered to take a family picture for us.
Church in Peggy's Cove; this could be anywhere in Nova Scotia; so many churches that look so similar.
