The children keep reminding me that I need to post about the baby birds. The eggs in the second nest which did not get eaten, finally hatched. We cannot quite tell how many there are, not sure if all 5 hatched or not. There's a lot of fur and little mouths that open and close but because of where it is among the cacti in the window box it's very hard for us to see.
Then we noticed as we walked under the arch in the back yard garden that everytime a bird would fly out. We could not see the nest but there were several eggs in it which we could view by holding up a mirror. We have finally identified these 2 birds. Thrush.
Then one day while sitting in the living room, we noticed out the big picture window a hummingbird continually flying all over. After a few more days she started bringing small twigs and pieces of fuzz. Then all of a sudden a tiny nest started to appear on top of the light fixture. Then, in a few days there was one teeny-tiny orange egg inside. So apparently there are birds and nests everywhere!
